House Welcomes New Majority Leader

Delegate Kirk Cox, R-Colonial Heights, dug through the pile of papers on his desk until he found the packet he was looking for. He wanted to review his research one more time before leaving for his party’s caucus meeting. “I’m afraid I’m going to make the wrong motion,” Cox said. “If I move to adjourn the session, then the governor can’t come and make his [State of the Commonwealth] speech. I have to move to recess.”

Tracy Kennedy’s video of ‘Distracted Delegates’ won first place in the Multimedia Competition of the Hearst Foundation’s Journalism Awards Program. Tracy beat out 78 entrants from 47 colleges and universities across the nation.
